Bachelor of Multimedia

I recently finished my degree "Bachelor of Multimedia" at Griffith Uni in Brisbane, Australia. It is a completely new and unique degree. Me and my colleagues are the first graduating. There is no such other course in whole Australia (and maybe in the southern hemisphere).

It is a 3-year specialist degree course providig an interdisciplinary and comprehensive study of the principles and practices of multimedia creation, production and evaluation. The degree covers the aesthetic, cultural and technical foundations of multimedia and their applications to the development, design, implementation, production, critical assessment and documentation of large-scale multimedia systems.
I did this course on a scholarship basis of the German Academic Exchange Program (DAAD).

Biggest part of the third year subjects in the Bachelor of Multimedia was the one-year project for the external client "Blake Dawson Waldron". For this major law firm in Australia, with offices worldwide, we designed and implemented an intranet based induction program for their new employees.

Part of the degree are also guest lectures from people involved in the multimedia business to give an up-to-date insight into the area.

In third year, there was a required four-week industry placement, which I did at Queensland Open Learning network. Me and my colleague Vanessa Combronero designed and developed their new webpage.
